What we cover
- No-bend setups — raised bed heights, elevated planters, and container gardens that meet you where you're comfortable.
- Easy, forgiving crops — vegetables and flowers that reward attention without demanding acrobatics.
- Simple timing — planting calendars built on frost dates and USDA zones, so "when do I plant this?" always has a quick answer.
- Printable tools — large-print planners, checklists, and worksheets, free to download and share.
How we research our guides
Garden advice online is a swamp of copy-paste. We keep our footing by checking every practical claim against sources that answer to horticulturists, not advertisers:
- University cooperative extension services — the research and outreach arms of land-grant universities (Georgia, Wisconsin, Iowa State, and others). When extension guidance and garden folklore disagree, we go with extension.
- USDA — the official Plant Hardiness Zone Map for zone questions.
- Long-standing references like the Old Farmer's Almanac for frost-date lookups.
Every guide lists its sources at the bottom. If we got something wrong, we want to know — write to us and we'll check it and fix it.
What we are (and aren't)
We're an independent publication — no sponsors, no ads, and nothing to sell you. The Planner Kit is free with no email asked. If that ever changes (say, we add clearly marked affiliate links someday), we'll disclose it plainly on this page and next to the links themselves.
One more thing, said with warmth: we write about comfortable gardening techniques, not health care. You'll find advice here about bed heights and lighter watering cans — never medical claims. For anything concerning your health, your doctor beats a gardening website every time.
Say hello
Questions, corrections, topic requests, or a photo of your first no-bend harvest — we read everything at the contact page. And if you're new here, the best place to start is the raised bed height guide or the free Planner Kit.
